Morrill Elementary Track & Field Day 2026

The Morrill Elementary Track and Field Day will be on Monday, May 11th. Our schedule of events will include all K-6th grade students both before and after lunch. Please see the attached flyer for details concerning the scheduled times for all of the events. Also, all events will take place at the high school track.

Lunch will be provided by the school cafeteria and will be served and eaten at the track.

We ask that all students wear tennis shoes, bring sunscreen, and bring a water bottle. Students may want to layer clothes as it could be cooler in the morning and warm up in the afternoon.

Please be aware that there will be a limited concession stand available for Track and Field Day. The items available and prices are on the attached flyer. If you would like your student to be able to purchase something from the concession stand, please send them with money.

Some important items to take note of are:

*Parents & spectators are asked to sit in the bleachers during running events.
*Any students leaving with parents must be signed out with Mrs. Lackey or at the nurse's station.
*In case of bad weather, Thursday May 14th will be our back up date.

Project Fit America - Opening Day Celebration (May 8, 2026)

Morrill Elementary School will officially launch our model health and fitness program on Friday, May 8, at 1:00 pm. Families are welcome to attend this event. The Project Fit America program provides fitness equipment, curriculum, and on-site teacher training. The program was made possible through a grant received from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Nebraska. We are beyond thrilled and so appreciative of our Sponsor and the opportunities that the new fitness equipment provides for our students!!!

Butter Braid Pick-Up Dates and Reminders:

1) Our Butter Braid pick-up date for orders will be on Wednesday, April 1st, from 3:30-6:30 pm at the Morrill Elementary Cafeteria.

2) Please note that if your student's total sales consisted of 6 butter braids or less, we will send those orders wth students at the dismissal of school on April 1st. You are welcome to contact the elementary office to provide an alternate plan if you don't want the order sent home with your student.

Morrill Elementary Spring Concert for KDG-6th (March 26th)

Our elementary spring concert will be held on March 26th, beginning at 6:30 pm for our KDG-6th grade students. The doors will open at 6:15 so students can go to their classrooms prior to the start of the concert. Please contact Mrs. Stumpff at (308) 247-2176 if your student is unable to attend, as this will be their only music performance assessment for the semester. Thank you!

3rd Quarter Next Level Day - Bowling Party March 19th

Our 3rd Quarter Next Level event will take place tomorrow, March 19th. Students in KDG - 6th grade, who have met the quarterly criteria to attend a Next Level event, will be spending a few hours bowling tomorrow! Please make sure your student wears socks to bowl in. Students' eligibility to attend is based on the following:
