COACH GURUE TO CONTINUE TO END OF SEASON
Coach Guerue and I have come to an agreement regarding his ability to complete the season as coach of the girls basketball team.
He will be allowed to complete the season. He will complete his duties as AD at Semester but will continue to coach the girls through the season.
His full employment will end at the end of the season. Thank you to all who shared your input both for and in opposition to his position in the district. I tried to take in all points of view and have come to this conclusion.
Due to the anticipated numbers of attendees to the board of education meeting on Monday December 18, 2023 we have decided to move the meeting to the Elementary Gym. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7 PM and an agenda is available to view online.

Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Wrestling and Girls Wrestling will NEED to attend.
The following information is what we know about the incident this morning.
We know that there was a collision on one of our rural bus routes, which was between a Morrill Public Schools Bus and a Semi Truck. The accident is being investigated by Law enforcement. There were injuries to both, the driver of the bus, and the driver of the Semi Truck. All of our students, who were on the bus, were evaluated by medical personnel at the scene and then released to their parents at that time.
Marvel Cole our bus driver was transported to Regional West Medical Center, and she has been evaluated and released. The driver of the Semi was also transported to RWMC.
Our students, who were on the bus, did an excellent job of following emergency procedures, staying calm, and notifying the authorities. We are relieved that our students were returned safely to their parents.
School Counselors and ESU staff will be available to assist any student who experienced any trauma from today's events.
If one of your students is in need of counseling, please contact the school office or the school counselor.

Beware of the Mosquito as you attend the games on Friday.
As you may have noticed this summer, there has been a large increase in those annoying pests, mosquitoes. Unfortunately, due this increase in population the Panhandle is a high-risk area for contracting West Nile Virus. We are encouraging all of our fans, coaches and athletes to please take precautions while outside today and make sure to use mosquito and bug repellant. We do have some cans of spray available at our concession stand for use if you do not have any, as long as the supply lasts that is.
If you can plan ahead and bring some spray with you or apply before you come to the game.
