Morrill High School and the Village of Morrill found a new way to commemorate the Senior Class of 2020 this year by hanging up banners downtown. This year's seniors have had a different school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Principal Tom Peacock wanted to still recognize this milestone in their lives.

"The idea came from seeing what other schools were doing for their seniors, like yard signs and parades." Mr. Peacock explains, "The Village always hangs flags up for Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, and other holidays, why not a banner?"

He headed downtown to count and see how many light poles were in the business district, "It turns out there was the same number of light poles as there is in the graduating class."

With the help of Watson's Manufacturing in Morrill and the Village of Morrill Lineman Department, the banners were hung up downtown on May 13th, the week of previously schedule graduation ceremony. The banners have each student's senior picture and their first name proudly displayed with gold and blue. Four of the students that reside in Lyman had their banners displayed as well.

While the COVID-19 pandemic changed the dynamic of their senior year, the district and community are extremely proud of their achievement! Thank you to Watson Manufacturing, the Villiage of Morrill, the Village of Lyman, Morrill Public Schools, and Mr. Tom Peacock for making this possible for these students.
