NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASES
Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. § 77-1633, that a representative of the following political subdivisions will meet on the 20th day of September 2023 at 6:05 p.m., at Judy Chaloupka Theater, 1601 E 27th St., Scottsbluff, Nebraska for the purpose of conducting a joint public hearing to obtain public input on property tax increases proposed by the subdivisions:
City of Gering, 308-436-6817, property tax requested: $2,130,611.16
Western Nebraska Community College, 308-635-6792, property tax requested: $14,924,295.30
Morrill Public School District, 308-247-3414, property tax requested: $4,944,444.00
City of Minatare, 308-632-4400, property tax requested: $94,435
Gering Public Schools, 308-436-3125, property tax requested: $12,405,858.98
**Bayard Public Schools, 402-984-4193, property tax requested: $3,608,905
September 20, 2023, 7:00 PM, Bayard School Library 726 4th Avenue, Bayard
Said meeting is open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact the Scotts Bluff County Clerk at 308-436-6600 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if accommodations are required.
There is no item on the agenda for this joint public meeting other than discussion of each political subdivision’s intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the “allowable growth percentage” defined in §77-1633. The political subdivisions shall make their presentations in the order listed above.
