The Morrill Junior High Reading Class made chains about themselves. Students are reading The Christmas Carol and in Stave 1 Marley’s Ghost tells Scrooge that he needs to change or suffer the same fate. The students were challenged by their teachers to make chains about things that are interesting about them, their strengths and challenges, and things they would like to change about themselves. Here are a few of the things the students want to change about themselves:
- I want to change how insecure I am
- I want to change how rude I am
- I want to change my attitude
- I want to change how I talk to people
- I want to be nicer to people
- I want to talk more positive instead of negative
- I wish I could change what I did to the people who don’t like me
- I want to change the way I act toward certain people
- I want to be more positive
- I want to change my attitude/anger
- I want to care about people who do not have a family
- I want to change how shy I am around people
- I want to change how I react to things
- Something I want to change is to be respectful
